Welcome to Zachár Winery & Apartments
My name is Zachár Ágnes – winemaker, host, caterer, but mostly: a passionate citizen of Sopron. The Zachár Winery did not grow out from a historical winemaker dynasty, but from the story of a woman who decided, that she wants to give her value to others through wine and hospitality.
My passion for wines and my desire to be close to nature has led me to create my own artisan wines in the Sopron wine region – on the slopes of the Alpokalja and on the sunny vineyards of the Fertő Cultural Landscape. I believe that winemaking is not just an occupation but a calling, which reflects the common work of the earth, the weather, the grapes and the maker.

Natural wines, natural connection
Our grapes are processed in a gentle way and our wines are aging in barrels. We do not speed up, we do not rush – we give space to the wine to show itself.
My favourites are the classic sopronians, Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt, but I also gladly experiment with Furmint and Cabernet Sauvignon. The sopronian white wines, such as Green Veltelini, Furmint, Tramini and Chardonnay, are the dearest to my heart. However, I also like to experiment with the sopronian Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt.
Our belief is bottled with the wine: naturality, elegance and purity.

From winery to apartments
As our wine tasting events became more popular, the need arose for a place, where our guests could relax. This way, Zachár Apartments was born, where the wine experience continues.
Our apartments, situated in the heart of Sopron in a quiet green environment, are waiting for those who would like to relax in the most faithful city, in a stylish, clean and friendly space.

Wine tasting & experiences
I want to offer you my wines not only in bottles, but as experiences.
We are organizing wine tastings for groups of 6 or more, with our own wines, sometimes combined with local snacks. For me these occasions are like holidays – encounters, conversations, laughter.
