WHO ARE WE?

Our philosophy

The grapes, which our wines are born from, are growing on the slopes of the Sopron wine region, embraced by the Lake Fertő and the mountain range of Alpokalja.

We are following the path of the harvest with care, our wines, after gentle processing, are matured in barrique barrels in their best state, and they find their final place in the bottles of the Zachár Winery, preserving the scenery of the region in them. We welcome our guests to rest in our apartments in Sopron, and either here, or in our cellar in the Poncichter area, on a wine tasting, we present the best of our wines with joy to them.

I started the craft of winemaking as a first-generation winemaker. The respect and admiration I feel for the wine has led me to this path, which I stepped on first during my school years. This is when my connection with the wine started, by organising wine trips for groups of friends, therefore getting to know many domestic wineries. I started to get more and more interested in the background, the viticulture, the winemaking, which further increased my interest in this craftmanship. Later I had the opportunity to take over a well maintained vineyard with excellent conditions from the father of my dear friend. This is when I have been bitten by the winemaking bug.

In the beginning the cellar and the vineyard was operating with the inherited equipment; today we have them all replaced with modern tools, which meet better the present expectations. Currently we are working on a 1.5 hectar (3.7 acres) vineyard. After spending the first few years in quiet, in 2014 I let myself be assessed by the wine-loving community. My connection with the public is fulfilled on our wine tastings, where I try to introduce the visitors to the mysteries of this beautiful profession by presenting them the products created by our winery.

As the vines change continuously, so do we, but our entrepreneurial spirit stays the same. We have created apartments in the heart of Sopron where we are expecting every visitor in a spectacular environment, to get acquainted with the Wine Region of Sopron or to spend a few pleasant days in our belloved city.

Wine tasting events

I believe the wine is born in the grape, and I have the task to follow the path of the harvest with care, so that we can gather the most healthy and ripe fruits possible. After sorting and processing the harvest in a gentle way, we let it mature in the cellar with as little intervention as possible, exclusively in barrique barrels, until it reaches its perfect state.

This is the beauty I want to show to everyone. We welcome groups from 6 to 20 people to bring new knowledge to those interested. Participation is possible with booking in advance, minimum for 6 people.
